We own and operate our stadium in Amsterdam (the first multipurpose stadium in Europe) since its inception in 1996 and have been involved in the development of the surrounding area. Since 2000, we have been involved in numerous leading projects and sports tournaments worldwide such as the UEFA EURO2012 and the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. Our successful business development in Brazil resulted in management positions held by the company in the FIFA World Cup 2014 stadiums of Salvador, Natal and the stadium of Gremio in Porto Alegre. We were special stadium operations consultant to the Qatar Supreme Committee in relation to the FIFA World Cup 2022 preparations. We take pride in being internationally recognized as specialists in venue development and management.
Who we are
Johan Cruijff ArenA are specialists in the development and management of (multipurpose) venues. Our team has many years of international experience in these fields, which enables us to provide services to our clients throughout every step of venue restructuring and management. We adapt quickly to our clients’ cultures, supplying excellent service, on time, to fit local demands.
We have had the privilege of working with many well-known companies in the venue and sports industry. Our clients include football clubs, venue owners, venue managers, event promoters, contractors, project developers, investors, and governmental agencies.

Often our clients initially ask us to provide one or more Training Courses for their management or staff. We provide training in all subjects relevant to venue development, management and innovation. A Training Course can help our clients decide on which approach to take in their Venue Development or Restructuring process. Subsequently when creating an Innovative Stadium we prepare a feasibility study, an analysis of financing options, business plan, review the design input from an experienced ‘venue operator’ perspective and assist in establishing the Venue Organization. Furthermore we advice on how to make the stadium more innovative and have this anchored in its organization. This can reach a level when the stadium is also used as a Living Lab. Our studies and plans are often used to convince stakeholders or to create a joint vision that helps start the actual restructuring of a venue, its facilities and/or its organization.
