TNO and Johan Cruijff ArenA expand innovation partnership

TNO and the Johan Cruijff ArenA will be further expanding and intensifying their existing innovation partnership. In the future, the organisations also want to investigate, test and optimise specific and feasible stadium-related innovations in fields such as sustainability, digitalisation and health. The partnership is part of the ArenA’s innovation programme, where the stadium functions as a Living Lab.

The partnership has already resulted in successful pilots like the Digital Perimeter, which helps to improve the security and experience of people who attend events, and the Unlock Amsterdam testing platform for the COVID-19 pandemic. But there has also been a successful TNO spin-off called ‘Studio Automated’, which converts AI Computer Vision technology into operational software.

In the future, TNO will also continue to be part of the various research programmes of Johan Cruijff ArenA Innovation Amsterdam. For example, when it comes to technologies that can further improve the privacy of visitors and citizens.
