Around the ArenA

The Johan Cruijff ArenA is easily accessible by public transport and car. Reserve a parking space in advance so that you are guaranteed a place. With Wizzymaps you will quickly find the best parking space and your entrance to the stadium. Before you know it, you are enjoying your event!

Tickets

In this stadium we work with e-tickets and mobile online tickets. Mobile only tickets can only be scanned from your phone since they cannot be printed. E-tickets can be scanned from both your phone and as a printed version.

If you have an e-ticket, we advise you to bring a printed version of your ticket, in case your phone battery cuts out.

Ajax Tickets
Ticket sales for Ajax matches can be bought via the website of Ajax. For questions about these tickets, please contact the fancare of Ajax.

KNVB matches
Tickets for a KNVB match in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, if still available, can be bought through the ticket shop on our website. Please make an account before purchasing tickets.

Event / concert tickets
Ticket sales for an event go through the event organizer and not through the Johan Cruijff ArenA. For questions about the sale of tickets, please contact the relevant organiser. The organiser for a concert is mentioned in the appropriate calendar item.

Every visitor to a concert or football match in the Johan Cruijff ArenA must have a valid admission ticket. If you have lost your ticket or the ticket has been damaged so that the barcode is no longer legible, please report this to the ticket organization from which you bought your ticket. If you still have your ticket, it will have the name of the ticket organization concerned printed on it.

If you are a certificate holder of the Johan Cruijff ArenA and you bought your admission tickets through the Johan Cruijff ArenA, please contact the Front Office department.

In the ArenA

On the day of a football match or concert
The stadium opens 1.5 hours before the start of an Ajax match. Main entrance E opens 2.5 hours before the start of an Ajax match. Different opening hours apply for KNVB matches and concerts. Check our event calendar for current times.

On days without events
The Johan Cruijff ArenA is open from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm. On weekends we are open from 9 am to 6 pm. You enter the stadium via main entrance E.

Concerten
Via Wizzy Maps vind je de locatie van jouw ingang. De ingang op jouw ticket is de juiste ingang waar je gebruik van kan maken. Het is niet mogelijk om via een andere ingang naar binnen te gaan.

To move easily through the stadium, you can use several escalators. Depending on your entrance, these go up to the first or second ring. The escalators are located at several entrances: main entrance E and entrances A, C, G, J and M.

The first ring of the main stand contains sections 001 to 111, each with 21 rows. The remaining sections on the first ring, 012 to 129, contain 31 rows. The numbering of the rows starts at the bottom: row 0 is closest to the field, row 29 is at the top.

The second ring contains 27 rows. The numbering of the rows starts at the bottom: row 1 is closest to the field, row 27 is at the top.

The stage is set up in different places per concert. The possibilities are:
- end setting: with the stage on the north side of the stadium
- the round setting: with the stage in the middle of the stadium
- panorama setting: with the stage on the east side of the stadium

You can see the various sections on the map. Click on an event in the Calendar. Seat numbers are not visible on our website.

The range of food and drinks varies per section. If you would like to know what is available in your section, go to our event calendar, select your event and section number and check what is on offer.

No, at this moment there aren't any rules or measures.

House rules and policy

There are no lockers in the stadium. You can, however, store all your belongings at Lockerpoint for a fee. For more information, please go to the Lockerpoint site.

Lost items that have not been collected will be returned to the hospitality desk at main entrance E after the event. Within 36 hours, we will place found items on the iLost website.

Visitors are not allowed to bring food and drinks into the stadium. There are plenty of food and beverage outlets in the stadium. We give confiscated (unopened) food and drinks to the food bank project in Amsterdam Southeast.

The rules around camera usage during events can vary. Please contact the organizer of the event you plan to visit for more information regarding cameras. 

Helmets are not allowed in the stadium. You can store your helmet at Lockerpoint for a fee. You can find Lockerpoint at the entrance of Ziggo Dome. There are a limited number of lockers available.

Alcohol is served during an event. Please note that no alcohol is served to visitors under the age of 18.

The Johan Cruijff ArenA is a non-smoking zone so there is a smoking ban throughout the entire stadium.

Bags of A4 size (30 cm x 21 cm x 10 cm) or smaller are allowed into the stadium after a security check. Bigger bags, suitcases or items are not allowed inside. Bags, suitcases and items that are not allowed inside cannot be stored at the entrances of the stadium. Bags bigger than A4 size will be denied at entry.

If you have bags or suitcases you want to store away in a locker, you can do this at the lockers of Lockerpoint. There are two Lockerpoint locations. Click on the links below for more information about the Lockerpoints.

In the stadium we do not take cash. You can pay only by PIN debit card (also contactless), Mastercard, Visa, Visa Electron, AmEx and VPay.

History

Na het succes van de HIStory World Tour in 1996, kwam Michael Jackson in de zomer van 1997 terug met een tweede reeks van de tour, waarbij hij optrad in meer Europese steden. Op 8 en 10 juni 1997 stond hij weer in een uitverkochte Amsterdam ArenA.

Booking in advance guarantees your spot. If you purchase a ticket at the stadium, it might be busy, and you may have to wait.

We are a cash-free stadium, so it’s not possible to buy a ticket with cash. 

If you can’t book a tour on a specific day or time, it may be fully booked, or no tours are available due to an event. 

If you are unable to attend, we can change the date and time free of charge. You can email us with your booking details.

The Close app provides relevant information before your visit. During the tour, you can also use the app, enhancing your experience.

You can book for groups via the webshop. For school or team bookings, we recommend emailing us at tour@johancruijffarena.nl.

Yes, you can buy a gift card in the webshop. You will receive a promo code to use when booking a stadium tour. Gift cards can only be used for the classic tour. 

You can receive a discount by showing your ticket or keycord, which you get when your tour starts, at the fan shop.

If you book in advance, you can be sure there’ll be a seat for you. If you buy a ticket at the stadium, it may be busy and you might have to wait a while.

We are a cash-free stadium, so it is not possible to buy a ticket with cash.

If you are unable to book the tour you have chosen on a particular day or at a particular time, it may be that it is completely sold out or that no tours are taking place on that day due to an event.

If you are genuinely unable to attend, we can reschedule the date and time free of charge. Please send us an email, including your booking details.

Tours

You walk independently through the stadium and visit all the highlights. Along the way, guides are stationed in various locations to provide information and answer your questions or have a chat.

The classic tour takes approximately 75 minutes. However, you can set your own pace as you walk through the stadium.

Our guides speak Dutch and English.

The classic tour is self-guided. If you prefer a tour with a guide, you can book the stadium tour with a guide or the VIP tour.

Absolutely! The stadium tour ends in the Ajax Gallery of Fame, where the trophies are on display.

We offer various stadium tours. In our webshop, you can view all the available products. The most common tour is the classic tour, which is self-guided. 

A kids tour lasts 2 hours, including 30 minutes of football. 

Yes, adults can definitely join! Children are not allowed to follow the kids tour without supervision.

The kids tour is only offered in Dutch. 

A VIP tour lasts 2 hours, including a drink in the Skylounge where you can relax. 

The VIP tour accommodates a maximum of 12 people, ensuring an exclusive experience.

We offer innovation tours. These are exclusive, customized tours. If you’re interested, you can email us at tour@johancruijffarena.nl.

We offer a range of stadium tours. You can see all the products we currently have on offer in the online shop. The most standard tour is the classic tour, which is self-guided.

The classic tour takes about 75 minutes. Of course, you decide for yourself how quickly you want to walk around.

All our guides speak Dutch and English. If you would like to receive the information in your own language during the tour, you can do so using the AudioGuide. This is available in German, English, French, Italian, Dutch and Spanish.

You’ll walk round the stadium at your own pace, taking in all the highlights. Along the way, there are guides who can tell you all about the different areas. You can ask them any questions you like and/or have a chat with them.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, you are not allowed to bring a pram or pushchair into the stadium. 

All stadium tours start in the main building at Entrance E, next to the Ajax fan shop and the ArenA Café.

During the guided tour, we will be using escalators. To get to the pitch, the press room and the museum, we will be using stairs.

You can get off at Bijlmer ArenA station. From there, it’s an easy walk to the Johan Cruijff ArenA. You can also use the interactive map.

You can park in P1, underneath the stadium. From there, walk towards Main Entrance E, where the stadium tour begins.

During the guided tour, we make frequent use of escalators and stairs. We would therefore ask you to contact us after booking so that we can arrange a guide for you. You can do this by emailing tour@johancruijffarena.nl.

Unfortunately, we do not provide wheelchairs for loan at the stadium. We recommend that you bring your own wheelchair to ensure a comfortable visit.

At the Johan Cruijff ArenA, we are committed to creating a pleasant concert experience for every visitor. Including visitors who are sensitive to stimuli or in need of a quiet moment. Do you have a standing ticket on the field? During the concert, you can make use of our sensory-friendly unit on the ArenA Deck. A calm space with reduced noise and comfortable seating to help you recharge.

We believe it is important that everyone can enjoy a concert at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, including those with a visual impairment. That is why, this summer, you will be able to listen to a live audio description at all concerts in the ArenA, in Dutch and, for some concerts, also in English. This allows you to follow everything that is happening on stage, down to the last detail. Read more about audio description here.

In the stadium

Bags larger than A4 size are not permitted and, unfortunately, there are no storage facilities available at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. We would ask you to bear this in mind. There are lockers available around the Johan Cruijff ArenA where you can store your personal belongings.

During the tour, you are allowed to take photos and videos, but only with your mobile phone or a small handheld camera. Professional cameras are not permitted in the stadium.

Unfortunately, there are no facilities for buying food or drink inside the stadium during the tour. However, there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity of the arena where you can have something to eat or drink before or after the tour.

The changing room is not always available. On days when Ajax have a match, the players use this room. On other match days too, even when Ajax are playing away, the changing room may not be accessible.

We use escalators during the tour. To access the field, press room, and museum, stairs are used.
