Pitch measurement device, tested in the ArenA, now used by all Eredivisie clubs

Because of the collaboration between de Eredivisie and Holland Innovative, The Netherlands is the first country where professional clubs are supported with data-driven grass management. Holland Innovative and the Johan Cruijff ArenA have a Fieldlab agreement from where we collaborate on testing the newest innovations together. The HIPSter is a product that comes from this Fieldlab. It has been developed, tested, and validated in this collaboration. Together we work on improving the pitches every day.

Quality of the pitch

The HIPSter measurement kit analyzes the hardness, ball bounce, ball roll, and grip of the turf so pitch managers can focus on maintaining and improving the quality of their pitches. All this data automatically loads in a central dashboard where field managers through trend analyses and predictive norms have insights into the quality of the pitch. With this new way of data-driven grass management Dutch football wants to play a pioneering role in the global football industry.
