The Johan Cruijff ArenA operates in the top league of international, multi-purpose stadiums. It is the home of AFC Ajax and the stage for the Dutch national soccer team, big concerts, dance events and business meetings. Welcoming more than two million visitors annually, the Johan Cruijff ArenA is all about visitor experience. Together with its partners, the Johan Cruijff ArenA offers top-level services and facilities and provides an optimal fan experience in and around the stadium.
This Privacy Statement gives insight about the personal data we process, why we process this information and how we process it. This Privacy Statement covers your personal data that we process from our website, as well as from your visit to the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
We may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time. Therefore we recommend that you consult it regularly. If we make changes to the Privacy Statement that affects you, we will notify the changes on the Privacy Statement web page or publish the changes on www.johancruijfarena.nl before they come into effect.
What personal data does the Johan Cruijff ArenA processes?
For example, when you order tickets on our website to attend a football match, a concert or a tour you will be asked to provide your name, home address, place of residence, telephone number, e-mail address and payment details (such as your bank account number or credit card number). We will process this data to execute your request properly. Also when you contact our customer service, or if you contact us in a different way (for example via social media) we will process the same data listed above in order to provide you with the best possible service. It is not possible to ‘opt out’ for this data collection process.
For both your and our security and safety during your visit of an event the Johan Cruijff ArenA operated CCTV camera surveillance. We do not store the captured images longer than the legally required period. We capture and store the CCTV camera images to comply with legal obligations such as to provide the video content in case of court orders as information for the authorities to detect, to analyze for prosecution of criminal offenses. We also may pass on parts the captured CCTV content to the authorities to protect our rights and property. It is not possible to opt out for this data collection process.
When you register for receiving our newsletter and promotional offerings, we ask for your first and last names and a valid e-mail address. We also ask you to give us your telephone number. We use this information to send you the Johan Cruijff ArenA newsletter and other marketing information to inform you, to interest you and possibly to involve you. We also use this information for the offering of products, services and events by the Johan Cruijff ArenA or the partners of the Johan Cruijff ArenA or other parties with whom the Johan Cruijff ArenA cooperates in providing its services. It is always possible to unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive this information.
Before or after your visit to the Johan Cruijff ArenA, you can use our mobility page. This is an online platform where you can compare your various travel options to and from the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The platform also offers links to other parties, for example to buy a train ticket or reserve parking space. To do this, the third party will request information from you, to correspond with you, to place a reservation or to make a registration. We do not receive this information.
You can visit the mobility page without disclosing your personal data to us. However, we do ask for an address, place of residence or postcode[CS1] in case you request a personal travel advice. Only the postal code[CS2] [JS3] is saved. In addition, we store the given travel advice and the chosen travel preference. To improve route information advice and the user experience of the Johan Cruijff ArenA mobility page, we conduct surveys. The results of these studies can never be traced back to an individual person. However, we could possibly use your IP address to combine data, for example to be able to compare your travel preferences with your survey responses after an event. Of course, we will always ask your consent prior to proceed with the data survey.
The Johan Cruijff ArenA provides facilities and services for everyone. People of all ages must be able to access the Johan Cruijff ArenA premises. Especially visually impaired, or persons in a wheelchair or suffering temporary physical discomfort may need additional services to enter the ArenA. We have been working very hard in recent years to make the stadium as accessible as possible for everyone. If you need special care to access the stadium we will try to provide you with the best possible service during your visit to the Johan Cruijff ArenA. For special assistance during your visit, we may ask you to provide sensitive information about your medical condition. This data is not stored and will be deleted immediately after your visit.
When you buy a ticket for an event through another organization, they may give us your personal data for use in our access control systems at the entry gates to the Johan Cruijff ArenA. This can be used for example, if you have forgotten or lost your ticket.
You may also order entry tickets for other persons than yourself. By doing so you accept the responsibility to inform these persons from whom you provide personal information to the Johan Cruijff ArenA for the ordering of entry tickets that you are authorized to do so and that thereby they have given their consent to Johan Cruijff ArenA to process their personal data accordingly (as described in this Privacy Statement).
Personal data that we collect automatically
Innovation is in the DNA of the Johan Cruijff ArenA. We see data as an enabler for innovation. That is why we have developed a secure platform to store data which we use to perform analysis projects. For example we collect data on the health of the grass on the playing field, the product sales during events and the mobility of visitors through the ArenA. All data used for this purpose is anonymized at the source. This means that no personal data is stored or processed for analysis. During events at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, we study the mobility of visitors through the stadium. We do this by monitoring Wi-Fi signals transmitted by mobile phones. This helps us to analyse the density of visitors at various locations and times in the Johan Cruijff ArenA for safety and security. This helps us to improve the safety of visitors, to develop better the visitor’s perception and experience during events, as well as to develop new services. The collected WiFi data cannot be linked to an individual person. If you do not want WiFi data collection you can simply disable Wi-Fi on your mobile device.
When does the Johan Cruijff ArenA share your personal data with third parties?
We may make your personal data available to third parties (service providers) that offer services and products on our behalf or together with us – such as entry tickets offered via the website – and that enables us to communicate with you to offer better services. This includes, for example, sending e-mails, analyzing data, offering marketing support, processing payments and the use of customer service. From these service providers we require full agreement that they will use your personal data only for the purpose intended and only to the extent necessary to (partially) provide you with the relevant services on our behalf. We do not sell your personal data to third parties and we will not process your personal data outside the European Union without your prior consent.
